Background:Cats are major sources of animal waste and feed that are often the main component of the human diet and are considered as one of the most important sources of human and veterinary animal waste. Although there have been no adequate studies on the environmental impacts of these sources of animal waste, the consumption of food and animal products, as well as their sources, can pose a major risk to human health. This study was designed to assess the environmental impact of buspar for cats (Cats), as well as the potential health risks associated with buspar use in cats.
Methods:The study was conducted at the Animal Health Clinic of Sichuan University Medical City (AHMC) from September to October 2016. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of the literature, including studies conducted in cats.
Results:The studies included 6 studies on buspar (Buspar, Buspar DS, Buspar DS-C, Buspar DS-S, and Buspar DS-T) and 6 studies on cats. The total number of animals in the study was 1,859,849,721,281,766,000,000. The exposure of cats to buspar was measured in 2,721,802 kg (6,814,094.5 kg) of buspar (10 mg/kg). The total exposure to buspar was 11,086.4 kg (6,814.4 kg) in cats and 13,912.1 kg (5,056.3 kg) in cats.
Conclusion:Buspar for cats and its consumption are the main sources of animal waste and feed. These studies suggest a potential risk for human health, including the development of human respiratory tract infections, and the potential risk for the development of cancer, as well as an increased risk for human airway diseases. However, it should be noted that buspar consumption is not recommended in cats due to a lack of a control group. The studies should be considered in relation to other potential environmental risks. Moreover, the consumption of buspar and its consumption in cats could lead to an increase in the incidence of serious adverse effects such as respiratory tract infections and respiratory tract cancer.

ObjectivesTo explore the role of buspar in borderline personality disorder (BPD) in an acute and long-term treatment program. We conducted a 12-week treatment program with buspar in BPD patients with borderline personality disorder (BPD) at our outpatient clinic. The aim was to explore the acute and long-term management of the BPD patient. The study included 4 weeks of treatment with buspar. We reviewed the patient characteristics, including the mean age of the patient, sex, comorbidities, and comorbid psychiatric disorders. We collected data through a telephone interview and interview with the main investigator. All patients were included into the study. We used descriptive statistics to summarize the characteristics of patients, including demographics, comorbidities, and comorbid psychiatric disorders. We used the Mann-Whitney test to compare proportions. We used the logistic regression model to estimate the association of buspar use with BPD severity and risk factors in the patients (eg, age, sex, comorbid psychiatric disorders, and comorbid psychiatric disorders) at baseline and after 12 weeks of treatment. We used the SPSS statistical package (version 19). The statistical significance level was set at p<0.05. The results of this study are presented as the means ±SD, median, interquartile range (IQR), and minimum, maximum, and mean ±SD. The statistical analysis was done using SPSS Statistics for Windows Version 19.0.
ResultsA total of 454 patients met our inclusion criteria, of which 309 patients were enrolled in the study and were treated with buspar (mean age 35.6±11.9 years; mean SD of 11.8±3.6 years). The mean duration of treatment with buspar was 5.6 months (SD=1.2 months). In total, 155 patients (11.1%) met the inclusion criteria. The most common comorbidity was major depressive disorder (27,5%), followed by substance use disorder (3,9%), anxiety disorders (2,5%), and insomnia (1,2%). There were no differences in the mean age of the patients with BPD. The mean female sex ratio was 2.7:1 in the buspar group compared with 1.8:1 in the control group, which was higher than the mean female sex ratio in the buspar group (1.3:1). The mean age of the patients in the buspar group was significantly higher than the mean age of the patients in the control group (35.3±12.1 years, p=0.0044) [Table 1].
